Phoenix Air Flight School

Learning to fly is a challenging, rewarding, and exhilarating experience. It gives you the freedom to travel on your own schedule—whether it’s shortening a long trip or taking in a summer sunset from an entirely new perspective.

Phoenix Air’s Flight School has been training pilots since 1984. Our graduates include business professionals who use their skills for personal travel, as well as pilots who have built successful careers with major airlines and global logistics companies. Many of our former students have even returned to Phoenix Air Group, Inc., flying Learjets and Gulfstream aircraft worldwide in support of our diverse contracts and services.

Located at Cartersville-Bartow County Airport, our flight school offers an ideal training environment, free from the congestion of Atlanta’s metro airspace. This allows for a safer and more efficient learning experience.

Our curriculum is designed to provide a structured yet flexible approach to flight training. Students progress through a combination of ground school instruction, self-study lessons, and hands-on training in an aircraft—all under the guidance of experienced FAA Certified Flight Instructors. As a Part 61 training program, we offer the flexibility to learn at your own pace, making it an excellent choice for students and working professionals alike.

By the end of your private pilot training, you’ll have a strong foundation in aerodynamics, weather, aircraft systems, and regulations—all while developing the critical decision-making skills every pilot needs.

Training Resources

Phoenix Air offers instruction in one of the world’s best state of the art training aircraft: the Cessna 172R and the Cessna 172SP. The Cessna 172 provides greater performance and more interior room than many other instructional aircraft. It also has advanced GPS navigation (with moving map). These aircraft are excellent for initial and advanced training. They also permit a pilot to take family and friends along during their lessons or on business or pleasure trips.

As part of our training, students benefit from a range of resources designed to enhance their learning experience, including:

  • On Site Maintenance
  • Mentorship opportunities with Professional Pilots
  • Gleim BATD Simulator
  • Full Service FBO
  • Interactive Ground Instruction
  • FAA Knowledge Test Prep
  • Passionate Instructors and Personnel that are invested in your success

At Phoenix Air, you’ll have the opportunity to train while building valuable connections with industry professionals who have firsthand experience in your journey.
